We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join an established Artificial Intelligence Engineering team delivering scalable Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions for enterprise clients.

You will design, build and industrialise AI solutions for production environments, ensuring they meet the required standards for performance, security, scalability and governance.

Working alongside Cloud Architects, Data Scientists and Data Engineers, you will contribute across the full AI delivery lifecycle, including MLOps platforms, data and AI architectures, Machine Learning models and AI-powered applications.

You will also play an active role in technical research, technology scouting, solution development, presales and the growth of project teams.

Key responsibilities

•Design scalable Machine Learning and Generative AI software solutions.

•Industrialise AI models and applications for production environments.

•Design and implement MLOps platforms, data pipelines and AI architectures.

•Develop software using Python, Scala or similar languages.

•Implement appropriate data structures and algorithms.

•Build and manage CI/CD and code repository workflows.

•Apply data and model versioning practices.

•Work with SQL databases and support ETL activities.

•Collaborate with Cloud Architects, Data Scientists and Data Engineers.

•Coordinate and develop project teams across presales and delivery.

•Contribute to technical research, technology scouting and new solution concepts.

•Support client-facing consulting and business development activities.

Essential experience

•Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or another relevant STEM discipline.

•At least five years’ experience in software development.

•Strong commercial experience with Python, Scala or a similar programming language.

•Experience designing software solutions and implementing data structures and algorithms.

•Experience with source code repositories and CI/CD tools.

•Knowledge of data or model versioning frameworks such as MLflow, DVC or Weights & Biases.

•Strong understanding of Machine Learning and Generative AI concepts, methodologies and algorithms.

•Experience designing, querying and managing SQL databases.

•Experience using SQL within ETL processes.

•Experience coordinating and developing project teams across presales and delivery.

•Professional fluency in both Italian and English.

Desirable experience

•Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.

•Knowledge of cloud foundations, data platforms and managed AI services.

•Experience training and fine-tuning neural networks.

•Knowledge of techniques such as superconvergence, PEFT and LoRA.

•Understanding of semi-supervised and self-supervised learning.

•Experience working within Scrum, Kanban or other Agile delivery environments.
